Natural Ways to Care for Your Sunburn

We’ve all been there. You (or your kids) spent a little too long playing at the beach and didn’t realize you were getting burned to a crisp! With spring break around the corner, we thought we would share our top tips for natural sunburn care.

  1. It might seem obvious, but the best way to take care of your skin is preventing sunburn in the first place. Hopefully daily sunscreen is already part of your skincare routine, but definitely load up if you are planning to be outside. Other tips like wearing a hat and avoiding the sun between the hours of 10 and 2 can help too!

  2. If you do find yourself with a sunburn, aloe should help cool you down. Did you know you can buy fresh aloe at almost any grocery store? Check your produce department for the big green leaves! Plus throw it in the freezer for a few minutes for optimum soothing.

  3. Avoid soapy cleansers or scrubs in the shower for a day or so after your skin is burned.

  4. Your skin will need moisture if it’s been burned. Applying a moisturizer can help heal the skin quickly. Our moisturizer contains jojoba and argan oils which both help with burned skin!

  5. Drink LOTS of water! You will need to drink plenty of water to combat the dryness in your skin. Also, it never hurts to snack on water-rich fruits and veggies such as watermelon, cucumber, strawberries, and cantaloupe.
